grandfather discovered the abuse she was receiving from her mother, to her very
breaking point. You will find out why Sky killed herself and why her mother,
sisters, and boyfriend are to blame. Did Sky kill herself just because of the
abuse or because of something sinister she did to relieve the never-ending pain
they were enduring her?”

Movie Review
Life of Pi
So, personally, I
loved this movie. There were a few flaws that I saw in it,
but overall I would give it about an 8 out of 10. "A young man
who survives a disaster at sea is hurtled into an epic journey of
adventure and discovery. While cast away, he forms an unexpected connection
with another survivor: a fearsome Bengal tiger." (IMDB)
So,
let's discuss the cast and how I believe that they did in the movie.
Everyone that was chosen for this movie did fantastic. I don't
think they could have chosen anyone else without the movie's vibe
being different. Suraj Sharma was the perfect Pi. I felt sympathy for
him at the times that I should have, and I even cried with him when
he killed his first fish. The specific scene sticks in my head. He was
doing what he had to do to survive. He could have killed the tiger,
Richard Parker, but he decided to help him survive despite the fact Richard
Parker could have killed Pi within a split second. Another scene
that sticks out in my mind was after Richard Parker jumped into the
ocean to catch a fish. Overall, everyone did a great job.
Next is the length. I
feel that it was too long but at the same time it was so
nothing important was missed. I don't recall any scenes that
could have been cut out. He was telling a story and he needed to include
everything like a story would have. My only problem was that it's
hard for me to focus on a movie for two hours. That's my only problem
with Stephen King movies, also! But overall, the length was a bit
long but it's understandable.
The storyline was
probably my favorite part of the entire movie. It left
you thinking about which of his stories was the truth. You got to see
the one with the animals but the ending makes you question if it was
the truth. I am still thinking about it two days after seeing the
movie! The scene with the meerkats was magnificently done. It's a
scene that points more toward it being unrealistic but it
is a very beautiful scene. All the scenes with the hyena were
realistic to me. I feel that everything the hyena did, from killing the
zebra to not being able to jump on the cover that Pi was standing on, was
something at a hyena might do. This movie's storyline was
definitely the best part of the movie.
This
movie is one of my favorite movies now. It
was magnificantely done and put my mind to work. It's a
movie that inspired me to always persevere. No matter how bad the
situation, anything could happen. Always have hope and never give up.
